A Letter From the Pastor
Mr. Richard McGinnis
Hello Refuge Family,
I’m really excited to be able to tell you that we are going to have church again! Yes, you read that correctly. We will have in person worship this Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 11 am. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait! It’s perfectly fine if you do a little happy dance right now. No one is watching.
I know that we are all tired and weary from the previous few month’s happenings in our nation and in the world. It seems that chaos abounds from all directions and every place we look. I want to remind you Scripture speaks to these events and no matter what the god of this world throws at us, we have hope in Jesus! Satan is active and he is stepping up his efforts because he knows that his time is running out and Jesus has already won the war!
Take a look at what Job said in chapter 19
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
27 whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!
Church will look different upon your return. We are following CDC, federal, state, and local guidelines in our plan. We have implemented seating with spacing for social distancing, masks, hand sanitizer stations, and many other policies to promote safety for everyone. I’ve attached a list with all of the items that have been implemented. I ask that you follow these new policies upon your return. I know it’s going to be strange but I want to make sure everyone is safe and can feel safe upon our return.
Please be aware, we will not have in person Wednesday night studies, youth, Sunday School, Life Groups, or Children’s activities in the immediate future. The Sanctuary will be the only room available for use. Restrooms, hallways, and classrooms are closed for now. I apologize for any inconveniences these changes may cause. Hopefully, things will go back to some sort of semblance of normalcy soon and we can do away with all of this. Please make sure to read the other page for a full list of safety practices that have been implemented.
I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday.
May God bless and keep you this week!
